The woman accused of stalking and attacking guitarist and vocalist Lindsey Buckingham when he showed up to an appointment in Santa Monica, Calif., has been arrested, according to Indiana police.
The Fort Wayne Police Department announced that the woman, who allegedly threw an unknown substance at the 76-year-old Grammy winner before running away as he excited a Santa Monica building earlier this month, has been arrested.
“On Friday, April 10, 2026, the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) was contacted regarding Michelle Dick, a wanted suspect who had fled to Fort Wayne,” police said in a press release.
“Michelle was wanted on a full extradition warrant out of California for stalking. According to authorities, on March 25, 2026, Michelle located Lindsey Buckingham, former guitarist for Fleetwood Mac, in Santa Monica, California, while he was attending an appointment. It was reported that upon locating him, she threw an unknown substance on him and damaged his vehicle before fleeing the area,” the press release added.
The FWPD said that they were advised that Dick had been “stalking Buckingham and his family for several years and in 2024, Mr. Buckingham obtained a restraining order against Michelle following years of harassment.”
Following the encounter, Dick fled California and was believed to have travelled to Fort Wayne, police added.
“On Saturday, April 11, 2026, the FWPD Street Crimes Unit (SCU), working in coordination with assisting agencies, located Michelle at a local hotel in Fort Wayne. She was taken into custody without incident on the outstanding warrant,” police said.
Police confirmed that Dick is “currently being held pending extradition back to California.”
Dick faces several charges including stalking, vandalism, battery and criminal threats.
“The Los Angeles Police Department’s Threat Management Unit is working with the Santa Monica Police Department to investigate this incident. To protect the integrity of the open and ongoing investigation, no further comment will be provided at this time,” an LAPD spokesperson said in a statement to Global News.
Global News has reached out Buckingham’s representatives for comment.
A few days before the incident, Buckingham posted an Instagram video sharing details of the upcoming Fleetwood Mac documentary.
“I’ve been working on a new solo album for the last couple of years, which is one song away from being finished. That’s certainly in the future for this coming year. Also, Fleetwood Mac’s working on a documentary for the last couple of years with Frank Marshall, who’s done many wonderful documentaries,” Buckingham said.
